Cape Meares Lighthouse, OR

Take a fun hike down to the water’s edge. Then check out the giant spruce before exploring the Cape Meares lighthouse.

Cliff Trail

Start at the parking lot and turn right to head to the water, left to see the giant spruce.

Entrance of the hike has this sign about the area.

The path is beautifully wooded the entire way.

And the path seems to be well maintained. Felled trees are cleared from the path.

Near the end of the cliff you’ll see the ocean, which you’ve been hearing all along.

At the bottom you may find yourself needing to use a somewhat sketchy rope for the final down climb.

Finally, soak in the view from the water’s edge! It’s rocky, so it’s more of a viewing beach than lounging one.

Big Spruce.  If you’ve got a hankering for trees then definitely check this big spruce. Follow signs for the “octopus tree.”

48 feet around!
